Peak 10 Trailhead

On the morning of Tuesday 26 August 2008 I began my "Assault on Peak 9." This is a look back at the beginning of the trail (marked by the white tent). My hotel, The Great Divide Lodge, prides itself on being a "ski in, ski out" lodge, meaning it is located at the south of the Main Street of Breckenridge, very near the ski lifts for Peaks 9 and 10. The lifts don't run in the summer, so if a fella wants a scenic view from the top of the mountain, he's on his own. Not knowing the trails, I accidentally wound up climbing Peak 10! So much for my "Assault on Peak 9." This is probably the last point where I actually knew where the heck I was on the map.
